Beyoncé racked up nearly every Grammy nomination under the sun when they were announced earlier this week. She got nine nominations, including one in the Rock category for "Don't Hurt Yourself." Now, according to an Associated Press source, the singer's country song, "Daddy Lessons," was submitted for consideration, but was rejected by the county music committee.

The AP reports, "The person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not allowed to speak publicly about the topic, said the country music committee rejected the song." The song, if had been accepted, would have been eligible for awards like Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance.

The song has been a topic for debate since it's released, as some intolerant country music fans to not believe it fits in the genre, more than likely because of the award-winning singer's skin color. Meanwhile, the country genre as a whole has welcomed the song, as it has been defended from critics by the likes of Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley and Little Big Down. The  Dixie Chicks performed the song with Bey at this year's CMA Awards.

Beyoncé is the most-nominated woman in Grammy history with 62 nominations.

Neither she nor the Grammys have commented on the AP report.
