One of the music industry’s rising stars is very close to signing a deal with a Major League Baseball organization.
According to ESPN, the Chicago White Sox are nearing a deal with hometown artist Chance the Rapper to become a club ambassador. The deal will pay the rapper, whose real name is Chancellor Bennett, to be a part of club activities to help “market the team to a younger audience.”
This report comes just after the White Sox announced Wednesday that Chance the Rapper designed three new hats for the team. They will be available in a limited quantity for their home opener on Friday, where Chance will throw the first pitch.

If the deal goes through, it would make Chance only the second celebrity to score a paid ambassador role for a professional sports team, with Drake’s relationship with the Toronto Raptors being the first.
