Denzel Washington is back on the silver screen in remake of the 1960 western The Magnificent Seven.

Denzel’s character, Sam Chisolm, heads a group of seven criminals, gamblers, bounty hunters, and hired guns consisting of Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Daredevil‘s Kingpin Vincent D’Onfrio, Byung-Hun Lee, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Martin Sensmeier.

The original movie, itself, was a re-imagination of a film that came before it in 1954 – Akira Kurosawa’s period piece, action packed, Seven Samurai.

The Magnificent Seven is being directed by Antoine Fuqua, the man who brought us Training Day, so it’s only right that Denzel and Hawke be cast in the lead role, since we know the two actors work well together under this director’s guidance.

The trailer is packed full of exactly what one might expect from a Western, lots of gunslinging, horse riding, desert towns and tumbleweeds. However, the multicultural element of the cast is a welcome surprise for a film like this one. The Magnificent Seven will be showing in U.S. theaters on September 23rd, 2016
