In the comic book industry, this has been the year of the Black Panther and we love it.

The reviews are all the way in. The Wakandan king T’Challa is stealing a starting spot on the Marvel roster across every medium of entertainment. The comic book, written by author Ta-Nehisi Coates sold out and had to go to a second printing to meet the consumer demand. Chadwick Boseman is the talk of the town for his trophy-worthy performance as Black Panther in the latest Marvel summer blockbuster Captain America: Civil War (if you aren’t waiting for what’s sure to be the legendary, 2018 Black History Month solo Black Panther movie release, you need to keep up). Merchandising for the character is at an all time high. And now, Marvel is back to make sure they kill off the competition in every way possible.

You can watch a video series of Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet that will release in tandem with the comic book (issue #2 is out right now, if you were sleeping). The first episode features commentary from the man himself, Ta-Nehisi Coates, and each video is scored by the hip-hop mavericks, Run the Jewels. If you weren’t a comic book or Panther fan before, now is the time for you. Get familiar before 2018 when Ryan Coogler and Chadwick Boseman tag team the entire film industry into submission.
